FAQ
Can I come whenever I want during open studio hours?
No, although this is called “open studio” - it’s not a true drop-in. You’ll first need to schedule one-on-one sessions to prepare you to move through your program on your own. You’ll also need to schedule your Open Studio sessions to ensure space in the studio.
How do I schedule?
Ideally, we’ll find a recurring session time that works for you most of the time. If your schedule varies or you occasionally want to add another session, you can also book session by session as available. Email Ashlyn to schedule ([email protected]).
How will I remember my program/routine?
You’ll have a printed version of your routine at the studio - including the exercise, spring weights, number of reps, variations, and any other important info. You’ll likely fall into a flow with your routine, but your card (and Ashlyn) will always be there in case you need a reminder.
Do I do the same program forever?
Not necessarily. As you master the initial set of exercises I will offer variations and progressions as appropriate to keep the momentum and energy.
What if I’m not a fan of group classes?
I understand.
First, this is different from your typical “group class.” I won’t be guiding a small group through a series of movements; instead, it’s a personalized Pilates program that you happen to be doing at the same time as other people who are following their own program. You’ll still get the same alignment-based, detail-oriented feedback that I give in one-on-one sessions.
Second, I encourage you to give it a try for a few weeks. If it’s not a good fit, we can discuss options for continuing one-on-one sessions. We can also schedule occasional one-on-ones in tandem to your open studio sessions if you’d like a hybrid schedule.

Why Open Studio?
There are a few reasons this is beneficial to your practice and my business…
- This model deepens the embodiment of healthy movement patterning and empowers you to progress further through autonomy and self awareness.
- This allows me to help more clients during my limited in-studio hours.
- Open studio is a lower cost than one-on-one sessions, it may allow you to get in the studio more often or continue your practice longer.
Policies
Cancellation
Please give as much notice as possible when you’ll be unable to attend your regularly scheduled session. Our studio 24-hour cancellation policy is still in effect. Late cancels and no-shows will still be charged for the session. In the event that only one person in a group is able to make their session time, that person will be given a few options: a) use the time for a private session instead (at private session pricing) b) reschedule to another group for that week (pending availability) c) or cancel (no cancellation fee) Attire As always, comfortable clothing you can move in is best. Please avoid embellishments that might make you uncomfortable or scratch the equipment (eg. you might find that a ton of zippers on your pants get in the way). Socks are required in the studio. Grippy socks are recommended to help you feel secure. |
